The duo complete the route in Zion National Park that was started 25 years ago.
Climbers David Lama, 24, and Conrad Anker, 52, have climbed the first ascent of Latent Core in Zion National Park, Utha, USA. The guys completed the route on the imposing Temple of Sinewava wall during four days of climbing together.

The route had a poignant meaning for Anker, who started it 25 years ago with Doug Heinrich but failed to complete. During the ascent, he was able to remove the rope he left hanging on the wall during that first attempt.

Lama was keen to put up a new route during their time climbing together.
“When we arrived in Zion, Conrad proposed we should try to on-sight the Moonlight Buttress," Lama said. "But for me, that was not as tempting as putting up a new line. “At the entrance to the narrows of Zion Canyon there is, on the left side there’s this really impressive wall, it’s steep and has a waterfall on the right side.” ”The thing that is really outstanding when talking about Conrad is how he still has so much joy when he’s climbing. I hope that I will always enjoy climbing as much as he does," he added.
