After an almost nine-year wait, Tekken 8 proved a triumphant return for the venerable fighting game series, offering robust online multiplayer and spectacular single-player modes. The game's base roster is packed with fan favourites and new faces, boasting 32 unique fighters.
That roster has since grown, with four DLC characters added for Season One, and a further four for Season Two – here’s everything we know about them.
01

Eddy Gordo

First appearing in Tekken 3 on the PlayStation, the 'Indomitable Flash' Eddy Gordo has been at the top of many fans' wishlists for DLC characters. The Brazilian fighter joined the Tekken 8 roster back in April, bringing his fluid Capoeira style to the next-generation tournament.
Eddy is a beginner-friendly fighter who's easy to play, but hard to master, offering accessibility for new players and depth for veterans. He can switch between two stances - his fleet-footed Negativa stance and the Bananeira stance. Frequent switching between his relaxed and handstand stances is the key to keeping your opponent on their toes as you hammer out fast and heavy combos.
While he's powerful, playing as Eddy isn't without risk. His moveset contains lots of flips and airborne moves, which leave him vulnerable to being interrupted by jabs. To play Eddy effectively, you'll need to mix up lows and aerial moves, and aim for those long, juggling combos.

Lidia Sobieska

Tekken 8's summer character is Lidia Sobieska, the karate-kicking Prime Minister of Poland who debuted in Tekken 7. Lidia is a complex character who can fight in four stances, each with unique low, mid and high moves. Her ability to fluidly move through these stances during a fight makes her unpredictable and formidable – but also challenging to learn.
The four stances in Lidia’s repertoire are Cat Stance, Horse Stance, Striking Wolf Stance and Heaven and Earth. Her punishes are extremely powerful, allowing you to pressure your opponent into what we like to call the 'Frightened Rabbit Stance'. Many of Lidia's moves also gain points on block, making her the perfect foil for defensive characters.
Heaven and Earth can only be entered during heat or after a heat engager. This stance houses Lidia's most powerful moves and also allows her to parry any incoming attacks. Attacking her in this stance will grant her heat charge, allowing her to unleash some devastating moves.

Heihachi Mishima

From the ashes of the Mishima Zaibatsu, a familiar villain returns to Tekken 8 in August – the King of Iron Fist himself, Heihachi Mishima. Announced at EVO 2024, the resurrection of the series big bad comes with new story content, The Dark Awakens, which will see Kazama continue his bloody war with the Mishima families.
Heihachi is traditionally a heavy-hitting powerhouse who's almost unstoppable at close range. The Electric Wind God Fist move is a staple for the moustachioed karate master, allowing you to close gaps and launch into some devastating mids. He remains as potent as ever, with new tools in his arsenal, along with a powered up state known as Warrior Instinct which buffs up his damage output, making him even more formidable. With classic moves and a new system to learn, newcomers and veterans alike will surely find the challenge of playing Heihachi enjoyable.

Clive Rosfield

Tekken is no stranger to including guest characters from other franchises, such as Tekken 7's inclusion of Street Fighter's Akuma, Geese from Fatal Fury and Negan from The Walking Dead. Much like the inclusion of Final Fantasy XV's Noctis in Tekken 7, the latest instalment in the franchise has included the latest Final Fantasy's hero in the form of Clive Rosfield – who also shares swordplay and magical attacks. Tekken 8's first guest character brings plenty of dynamic gameplay with his sword skills and Eikonic powers, unleashing heavy hitting and long-range attacks, along with plenty of mix-up potential.
The Final Fantasy XVI hero also uses his wolf companion Torgal in some attacks, and he taps into his Eikon, Ifrit, when unleashing his Rage Art. A fiery fighter that brings even more magic to the franchise – and you'll hear the classic Final Fantasy victory fanfare if you finish a set with Clive's Rage Art!

Anna Williams

A blast from Tekken's past, Anna Williams's addition to the roster brings multiple changes to her moveset to help further separate her from her sister, Nina. With high-risk, high-reward moves at her disposal, along with a massive bazooka mace, returning players will need to unlearn some classic combos and moves to make the most of her Tekken 8 rendition.
With three stances – Hammer Chance, Chaos Judgement and Pleasure Time – Anna has more options than ever, along with her new bazooka mace which is capable of dealing a hefty amount of chip damage, along with many low moves that are able to lead swiftly into combos. With new layers to her depth, Anna makes for a fantastic addition to the roster that longtime fans will enjoy uncovering.

Fahkumram

Tekken 7's DLC fighter Fahkumram makes his return to the franchise as the second character of Tekken 8's Season Two roster additions, bringing his hard-hitting Muay Thai prowess and hulking frame to the fight. With long legs that give scary range, powerful combos and stunning strikes, Fahkumram has been a welcome addition to the character mix – even with initial fears due to his apparent overpowered state in Tekken 7.
He's able to parry strikes too, and he has multiple stances to dig into which opens up his complexity even further – with his Garuda Force stance capable of unleashing truly monstrous moves.
07

Armor King

Armor King is ready for revenge

In wrestling, a heel character exemplifies pure villainy, and Armor King's return to the series brings forth his thirst for revenge by any means necessary. Well, in the story at least – but that also means his moveset certainly packs a punch. Sharing plenty of similarities with his less armoured rival, King, including a wavedash and versatile throws, Armor King brings in more pokes and more aggressive moves, making for a familiar, but much more aggressive style in comparison.
He's great on the counter-attack, able to punish foes with heavy-hitting moves, and his new stance, Bad Jaguar, gives you a whole host of options to learn and unleash. Armor King is a fan favourite for multiple reasons and his return to the fight has been worth the wait for many Tekken fans.

Miary Zo

Revealed at EVO 2025 as the final DLC character of Season Two, Miary Zo is an all-new addition to the franchise, bringing a mix of Moraingy and other martial arts of African origin, including Dambe from Nigeria. Allegedly with a cheerful and open-hearted demeanour, she's set to become playable in December 2025, bringing with her a mix of combos, fast-paced attacks and, surprisingly, wildlife.
As the second all-new character in Tekken 8 following Victor Chevalier, we're keen to see how she fits into the fray and how her lore fits into the overall picture of the franchise too.
09

Who's next?

With Miary Zo's reveal earlier this year, and upcoming launch in December, that concludes Season Two – but we're keen to see Bandai Namco add even more characters to Tekken 8's roster in any future seasons.
Will we see new characters once again, or even more returning favourites? If it's the latter, to follow up the wrestling theme of Armor King, Vale Tudo fighter Craig Marduk could be one to pick to add some more potential for close-quarters action. The wrestling champ was introduced in Tekken 4 and quickly became a fan-favourite due to his diversity, which allows him to be used as a tough defensive opponent or a wild attacker.
Interpol detective Lei Wulong – a franchise mainstay, too – could also bring his Jackie Chan-style mix-up of moves to the fray, and add an interesting spin to the story given his investigative nature. Given Tekken's vast legacy, fighters from the franchise's back catalogue could easily fill out a whole season, but Bandai Namco may still surprise us all and introduce another new character – or even another guest slot.
With the 2025 Tekken World Tour set to conclude in February 2026, all eyes will be on to see just who will be crowned – and if any new fighters will be revealed.
