Surfing
When he isn't setting records riding the oceans biggest waves, Carlos is pretty much a normal guy.
So you want to ask one of Brazil's finest about his hidden talents. But when the telephone receiver is lifted from its cradle (old-school!), Mr Burle, of indeterminate age, but of the most sublimely polite manner, talks about all his fabulous quirks.
Now let's catalogue:
"I don't like any kind of peppers, especially bell-peppers," says Carlos.
"I sleep with two pillows and a fan on a lower speed."
"I eat yams with eggs, instead of bread, every morning."
"I have a salad dressing factory."
"I have a special shampoo for after surfing (L'Oreal)."
"I used to skip school to go surfing." Uh, that ain't so quirky, Carlos!
"I don't play any instruments but I like to sing and dance."
"My favourite kind of music to go surf is eighties rock."
"The name of my first dog was 'Bolota' (big ball)."
"I dream about flying a lot!!"
