The weekend was filled with intense fights and ‘first bloods’ at the Clash Club, São Paulo, Brazil, where the third edition of Red Bull Player One – the 1vs1 League of Legends’ tournament – was held.
This time, we saw four Brazilian stars challenging players from Chile, Mexico, Oman and the United Arab Emirates and delivering amazing battles that culminated in epic combat at the international grand final: TinOwns versus jUc.
TinOwns plays mid for CNB, a traditional and well-renowned team known for finishing every championship in second place. jUc is a sub for the paiN Gaming squad, a team which has already proven its worth by going to Worlds. Both were very eager to show their skills on the big screen and that’s exactly what they did.
But before we dive deep into how their BO5 went, let’s talk about the exciting moments that led us to it:

YoDa 2 vs 1 Horror (Oman)

The clash between the two Dravens during the second match of the series made all fans lose their heads over Horror’s win. Never underestimate the power of 'Exhaust'!

jUc 2 vs 0 DEVOM (Mexico)

It almost ended with jUc getting 100 farms. Almost.
Tweet translation: To all those who thought this would be won by farming, you were wrong! jUc gets aggressive and wins the first round!

Rakin 1 vs 2 Xpulser (United Arab Emirates)

Rakin used his Flash spell to tower dive and get the kill that would grant him victory. But it backfired when Xpulser managed to survive the attack in fact, he took Rakin down while he was at it. This is one of those plays which will be remembered for years to come… Welp. So close.
Tweet translation: What a turn of events! Xpulser surprises everyone and takes Rakin down, which means he's now qualified for the semi finals!

TinOwns 2 vs 0 Skayz (Chile)

It was the last series that decided who’d be the fourth player in the semis and TinOwns was a game ahead. TinOwns had a huge farming advantage and Skayz needed to act before the Brazilian got to 100 minion kills. In a moment of pure tension, Skayz dashes towards Tin and tries to shut him down, but his health bar also drops really fast when the troops decide to focus him. Winnions!
Tweet translation: Wow! That was close! TinOwns ensures his win and qualifies for the semi finals.

jUc 2 vs 0 YoDa

YoDa was the fan favourite by far, but the sub from paiN Gaming gave him hell during both matches. jUc’s victory could have something to do with this mysterious black notebook – but we've no proof yet. (Could it be a death note?!)
Tweet translation: They say jUc’s notebook has all League of Legends’ undisclosed secrets.

TinOwns 2 vs 0 Pulser

The only non-Brazilian who got to the semi finals, Xpulser ended up giving in to Tin’s Karma.

The last series, a best-of-five, had two huge moments:

TinOwns holding back his own minions using Taliyah’s ultimate
Very, very clever of him, stalling the game so the minions could come to him and he could farm safely under his tower. There was nothing left for jUc to do except wait patiently.

Patience is the key to TinOwns’ success
Speaking of patience, the recently-crowned 1vs1 king favoured playing in a peaceful, less aggressive way, bursting the enemy only to drive them away from the lane so he could farm without distractions. Such a great strategy.
And just like that, with tonnes of unbelievable plays and a few surprises, the third edition of Red Bull Player One came to an end, with a convincing 3-0 for Tin. His record during this CBLoL split was amazing and he impressed us all with his skills and humbleness.
jUc is also a very promising athlete and we can’t wait to see him playing against the big teams of the scene. For the players, the tournament was a chance to put their individual skills to the test and for the audience it was an opportunity to watch excellent matches that remained tight until the very end.
