The first round of this year’s World Endurance Championship was just as thrilling and dramatic as last year’s unforgettable action.
Audi took the chequered flag first, but were later excluded for a technical infringement, handing the victory to the number 2 Porsche crew of Marc Lieb, Neel Jani and Romain Dumas.
It was a tough start for Mark Webber’s world championship crew though, with Brendon Hartley having a spectacular smash with a GT car two hours into the race and ending their hopes of a strong start to the season.
Photographer Dean Treml was there to capture all action in these stunning monochrome images.
