The 1v1 has always been the best way of settling any disagreement in the world of video games. Got some beef with someone after a loss? Has someone called you out? Or do you just want to prove that you are way better than someone? The solution if you answered yes to any of those questions is to jump into a 1v1 in your game of choice, and settle it once and for all. With no one else on the server it really does come down to who is best.
In the world of CS:GO the 1v1 has been used to settle many disputes, but some players are just too nice to put their money with their mouth is and actually jump into a 1v1, even if it was on good terms. That why we travelled around the world to ask some of the best players to ever grace the Counter-Strike scene which pro player they would like to 1v1 and why.

Taco vs Xyp9x

Taco comes out with some pretty good reasoning for this one, as he believes that this can only be a win win situation for him. Xyp9x is considered to be one of, if not the, best players when in a 1 vs X situation so if Taco loses, then it would be just as expected, as he would be facing against one of the best ever. But if he pulls the win out of the bag, then he has just upset one of the masters, and his stock in the world of 1v1s rapidly rises. This is perhaps the most well thought out answer, and is also a match we would really like to see.

NiKo vs coldzera

Now this could be the best 1v1 ever. Both NiKo and coldzera are considered to be two of the best fraggers in the game. Over the past twelve months, these two have probably been the top two names when asked who the best player in the world is, so this 1v1 would be one for the ages. NiKo is known for his impact frags and insane trades, but coldzera is arguably the only player who could actually match him.

Magisk vs Pasha

This 1v1 seems to have some kind of beef behind it. Pasha is known to be somewhat of a joker and it seems like Magisk hasn’t taken some of his humour so well. Apparently, whenever North lose, Pasha is the first one to speak up, throwing some fire their way. When VP manage to beat North then it becomes even worse, with Pasha pointing out that in their last two big meetings, North had clear advantages to go on and win. Well it seems like Magisk has had enough of Pasha’s jokes and wants to show him who is the boss in a 1v1.

coldzera vs dev1ce

While NiKo wants to take on coldzera, cold himself wants to take on dev1ce from Astralis. It seems like coldzera rates him pretty highly, saying that they are both two of the best players in the world, and they need to prove who is the best in a 1v1. While we do agree that this match would be incredibly entertaining, we are surprised by his assertion that dev1ce is up there with the top level players. Sure he is one of the best in the world, but we maybe wouldn’t put him on quite the same level as coldzera and NiKo.

Stewie2k vs NiKo

Stewie2k is arguably the brightest talent to come out of North America over the last few years. The young player quickly rose through the ranks and is now the star player on one of the best teams in the region. Give him a few more years to develop and he could easily become the best in the world. Of course there is no better way to take that title than to beat one of the current contenders in a 1v1 and with a match against NiKo he could do just that. We would genuinely love to see this one played out, as it has the potential for some unbelievable frags between the two.

dev1ce vs everyone

Now this is the kind of attitude we like to see. Why pick one person to challenge when you can throw it open to everyone and take on the best. With confidence like that we expect dev1ce to do well in any 1v1s he takes part in, and who knows, with an open challenge, coldzera might be able to get his match against dev1ce to prove who is the best between them. We certainly wouldn’t want to take on the Major winner in a 1v1 and it would take a very confident pro to answer this challenge.
