With a new album and fresh tunes under their musical belts. Alaa Wardi, the YouTube Acapella star, reunited them back in 2018.
We sat down with Wardi after the release of their new single “Zubalah”. Check out what he had to say about the fully animated music video:
"Zubalah" is a conceptual, edgy music video that triggers self and universal awareness on somehow a dark humorous level. Since Hayajan's new album “Khusouf Al-Ard” is aiming to break some rules and follow a beam of a different light out of the box, "Zubalah" repositions Hayajan band to a mature level of modern sarcasm. The indie scene in the Arab region is diversified and multi-layered; hence, "Zubalah" video sets new rules for the game. "Zubalah", a fully animated and directed music video by Hayajan's own Mohammed Idrei tell us a tale we all were exposed to at some point, but from a rather different perspective. When aliens decide to take over planet earth, the least they expect is an advice from the human race.
Wardi wrote the lyrics expressing honest frustration from what our planet has become due to the damage humans are constantly causing. "Zubalah" carries several indirect messages, in a perfectly innovative yet extremely "Hayajani" music mold.
Revolutionary lyrics, along with the famous Hayajan guitar grooves and outstanding sound, will leave no room for doubt: Hayajan did it again!
