That’s right: Nucleya AKA India’s greatest name in EDM, is back in Dubai to celebrate the launch of his highly anticipated new studio album, ‘Tota Myna’ with his fans. The music producing star is hosting a very special live appearance with #RedBullMusic at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel as part of Indian Republic Day weekend, and even if you haven’t heard his stuff before, we suggest you should.

Here are 7 reasons why you should watch him live:
1) Well, he’s a pioneer in Indian dance music...
Nucleya - real name Udyan Sagar - is known for his “genre-bending” productions – combining EDM with traditional Indian musical instruments, and his signature ‘desi dubstep’.
2) And he’s maintained his reputation as one of the best
Nucleya’s rise to the top was certainly no accident, as he’s cemented his position in the music producing world with his talent. As of now, the hit-maker has amassed nearly a million YouTube subscribers, and over 2 million fans on his official social media channels. He has performed at the likes of Asia’s biggest dance music festival, Sunburn, as well as Glastonbury in the United Kingdom.
3) He creates awesome live shows
Don’t expect an appearance from a DJ who just mixes tracks. Nucleya’s shows tend to be an audio-visual spectacular. Check out a recent appearance in Mumbai below!
4) You’ll get to hear his new album live before anyone else
There’s no doubt that ‘Tota Myna’ is a hit. Some of the tracks have already been released online and are doing well.
For example, ‘Mirza’ featuring Raftaar and Rashmeet Kaur has already garnered 2.4 million streams on YouTube.
Speaking of the record in November, Nucleya revealed: “My new album is a mix of a lot of collaborations. I worked with hip-hop star Raftaar, as well as prominent indie artists such as Rashmeet Kaur, Avneet Kurmi and Vibha Saraf. I have even made a song with Shruti Haasan.
“I feel I have become better as a musician. I think about melodies more than I used to. So, one main thing which differentiates this album from the previous ones is that it revolves around love songs. And I feel it has a different sort of energy; it is more in the space of sing-along songs.
5) He’s inspired by Bollywood… and more
What’s not to like about that?
“I definitely take inspiration from Bollywood but that’s not it. I grew up listening to a lot of film music and my father has always been a huge fan of it, straight from the 60s to the 90s,” Nucleya said in a recent interview. “And even though I produce more of dance music, I love the old tunes of Shankar-Jaikishan and Kalyanji-Anandji and ghazals by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahab, Ustad Ghulam Ali Sahab. I listen to everything from old film music to folk music.”
6) He’s worked hard to get where he’s at
Success didn’t come overnight for the 39-year-old. He had to prove himself, explaining: “I started making music 15-20 years back but at that time whatever I was trying to do musically didn’t work. That’s one reason why I had to struggle so much.
“Now, a lot of people are very open-minded. You throw anything at them musically and they will take it and will try to understand that.”
7) And he’s determined to inspire others to follow their dreams
“Be original and don’t give up,” he says. “There’s no set formula and you have to find your own way to get your music heard and appreciated. It might take time but the wait is definitely worth it.”
