ICYMI, back in the emirate for the 12th year of the competition, Red Bull Car Park Drift’s UAE qualifiers is set to showcase the craziest displays of drifting in the region. And for the first time ever, it’s taking place on a car park rooftop at Dubai Marina Mall. Rumour has it, it’s one of the most technical courses in the championship’s twelve season history!
And at the helm this year is none other than Jordanian drifter Ahmad Daham, who’s serving as race director. Despite his crazy schedule, we managed to catch the 32-year-old for a quick chat about the competition.
For those hearing about Red Bull Car Park Drift for the first time, how would you describe it to them?
It is the best drifting event of the year, gathering the best drivers from the Middle East in one country showing their skills, burning some tyres and enjoying driving in a parking track!
So, what’s your main role as race director of Red Bull Car Park Drift?
It involves briefing all the drifters on how the track should be drifted and preparing the track with the right obstacles and layout.
What are you looking forward to seeing the most this weekend?
How the drifters will manoeuvre the tight and technical layout for the first time on a rooftop.
What else have you been up to recently? Your recent drift at Jabal Jais looked insane!
We were crowned winner of Emirates Drift Championship which took place in UAE and managed to finish 4th place in the Oman international Drift.
And finally, you've got to tell us about Will Smith's Bucket List! What can we know?
We were asked to take part in Will Smith's Bucket List and it was an honour to work with Will Smith and his team and showing them what drifting is all about.
What's coming up for you next?
We have a huge partnership announcement, and lots of activations in Europe which I am taking part of.
