It’s finally here. It has finally been confirmed.
The rippling oiled-up glutes of the WWE superstars will be joining the fight on their way to the glorious halls of Valhalla. Expect even more madness and mayhem – and a couple of chair slams – as the biggest wrestling company in the world joins up with the Brawlhalla creators to bring you this legendary slugfest.
For those who aren’t familiar with this epic free-to-play 2D platformer, here’s the low-down:
Brawlhalla is a platform brawler where players go up against one another by choosing from an ever-expanding roster of fighters to battle with in a floating arena. Every match is a test of skill and wills as players duke it out online or offline in either single-player, 1v1, 2v2, 4-player free for all, or 8 Player 4v4 matches.
The game’s 40 characters are on a weekly rotation, where they can be unlocked with gold earned by playing the game. Each character comes with their own unique stats, abilities, and signature moves. This, along with the in-game weapon and bomb drops adds a brilliant layer of versatility to Brawlhalla. Plus, it’s simple to play yet hard to master structure ensures that you’ll have a great time whether you’re playing for fun or serious about climbing the ranks.
Even though it released as a small, free game from a relatively unknown indie developer (Blue Mammoth Games), Brawlhalla has fought its way into the gaming halls of glory, or “gaming Valhalla” if you will. Its sleek design and simple playstyle quickly granted the game a cult following, and it’s surprisingly deep mechanics has earned it a place as an esports staple.

IF YA SMELL WHAT THE BRAWLDOWN IS COOKING

The worlds of wrestling and fantasy will forever be united as the WWE crossover makes its way to Brawlhalla from now on through to the 27th, adding special skins, a new map, and a ‘no holds barred’ game mode to the existing game.
So what’s the lowdown?
Well, first up, check out the skins.
Four of the existing characters will be getting new, WWE-themed ones. Ever wanted to be invisible like John Cena? Well, now’s your chance as you get to perfect his signature moves while playing Hattori. The John Cena skin adds brand new effects like camera flashes and fog to the game.
If you’re more into hitting hard and taking names later then Sentinel’s new The Rock skin should hit the spot. His flaming bull and magma rock attacks will crush the competition into dust.
Raw Women's Champion, Becky Lynch joins the fight through Gnash with epic giant green fire fists and a big slamming table (of course). And finally, Xavier Woods is taking over Bodvar for a mighty showdown as he tags in partners Kofi and Big E, and brings down some booty whooping with his unicorn branding.

NEW GAME MODE AND MAP

In addition to the skins, a new map and Brawldown mode come as other additions to the game. The map will have a wrestling ring, naturally, and the mode makes use of that by allowing players to bounce themselves or their opponents off the ropes.
This mode is a tag team match-up where you and a partner step into the ring for a 2v2 brawldown. Opponents have to be KO’d three times, but you can buy some time by stunning them with a folding chair or knocking them into a table for extra damage.
So guess all there’s left to say is, whatcha gonna do, brother, when Brawldown runs wild on you?
Brawlhalla is available to play for free right now on PC, Mac, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
