On stage ever since she was a child, Luwam initially performed classical ballet before discovering street dance. It was the perfect fit for the bundle of energy and she soon began to take classes and perform in youth groups. Before long, she was ready to showcase her newfound skills on the battles scene.
Impressing on the battle scene
The decision to focus on street dance proved to be a wise one for Luwam as she excelled in battles around the world. Investing all her spare time in her dance career, she impressed in 2017 by becoming the first women to reach the top 24 at Summer Dance Forever.
The following year, she was a finalist at Juste Debout in Paris, and in 2022, impressed at Build Your Team Johannesburg. Continuing her rise to prominence, she also made the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Final in 2022 and 2023. These performances helped establish her as a major player in the international scene.
From international productions to film projects
In addition to her success on the battle scene, Luwam first appeared in front of the camera in 2018 as part of an international production in London. One year later, she secured a role in the dance film "Fly".
Showcasing her versatility, Luwam is equally at home behind the scenes and in 2024 was entrusted to choreograph the entire Badmómzjay Survival Tour.
She also continues to collaborate with artists such as Bozza and Mathea and is a regular feature at Red Bull Soundclash, bringing her unique style to the biggest of stages.
Agency, workshops and female empowerment
With the founding of her Luwam Russom Agency, the German dancer expanded her creative playground beyond the stage, implementing her own projects for brands and artists while simultaneously creating new opportunities for other dancers.
She also enjoys sharing her knowledge and is a regular at international workshops. For Luwam, it's about more than just dance; she wants to inspire and motivate other women to believe in themselves and follow their own path, whether as a dancer, choreographer or teacher.
