Massa’s last home race ends in tears

They were choking back the tears along the pitlane as the curtain came down on Felipe Massa's final home Grand Prix. The popular Brazilian's F1 career comes to a close in Abu Dhabi so it was always going to be an emotional farewell to his home fans.
And then his race ended in a crash. The Paulista walked back, waving to the home fans, who rose to their feet to applaud him. Draped in the Brazilian fans, he reached the pitlane where he was cheered off by a guard of honour, as the teams left the garages to show their appreciation of one of the nicest people in the paddock. Massa, we'll miss you.

Lewis’s lucky track

Interlagos has often been referred to as a bogie circuit for Lewis Hamilton, which is strange considering it's the scene of his greatest triumph. He hadn't ever won there however, but has now laid that particular ghost to rest. He's now won at more circuits that any other driver.
Brazil was also Hamilton's 52nd F1 victory, which moves him into a clear second place on the all time list, ahead of Alain Prost and with just another 40 to overhaul Michael Schumacher. He also notched up pole position number 60 on Saturday. He's third on that all-time list, with only Senna (65) and Schumacher (68) ahead.

Max’s language problem

When asked for a 'comment in your own language' for the cameras in the press conference room, Max barrelled into an description of his weekend… in English. Once he was hauled in and asked if he might do it in Dutch, he looked crestfallen. "It's a lot easier in English," he said.

Sauber cleaned up

No one's talking about the big result today – Felipe Nasr's excellent ninth place finish. It moves Sauber up to 10th in the Constructors’ Championship, ahead of Manor, and looking set to receive the much-needed financial windfall a top 10 finish entails. Monisha Kaltenborn will definitely be the most happy team principal in F1 this evening.
