Red Bull Rampage is all set to go for 2021
The biggest event in mountain bike freeride will focus on 2021 following the cancellation of the 2020 contest.
Red Bull Rampage has brought together the greatest freeride athletes from around the world to compete on one stage in Virgin, Utah, for 14 amazing editions. Alas, the 15th edition of the event, set to run in October, will no longer take place due to the current challenges presented by the global health situation. Focus will now move on to planning the 2021 event for the freeride mountain bike community.
Details on the 2021 event will be available in the coming months. Red Bull Rampage is mountain biking's truest test of skill and mental toughness and there remains a willingness to continue having the contest on the mountain bike calendar.
Todd Barber, the Director of H5 Events, who help organise Red Bull Rampage, said all the stakeholders involved in putting on Rampage recognised the "magnitude" of the decision to cancel and the effect this would have on the riders and mountain bike scene.
"The challenges presented by the global health pandemic, both in getting riders and their teams to the event and in protecting the health and safety of the riders, staff and everyone involved, including the local Southern Utah community, drove our decision making."
