Jorge Martín’s passion for motorcycling was handed down from his father, who bought the young Jorge a pocket bike. Setting off with an ambition of beating his idol Valentino Rossi’s records, he began to race and soon showed more than a spark of talent.

In 2012, Jorge came within touching distance of the World Championship when he was accepted to compete in the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup. Injury affected his campaign, but when fully fit in 2013, he showed he was one of the top riders to watch as he finished runner-up behind Karel Hanika.
