From Osaka, Japan, Nakarai Shigeyuki, aka B-Boy Shigekix, is a member of K.A.K.B crew. He discovered breaking at the age of seven years old through his older sister, B-Girl Ayane.
Before becoming a b-boy, Shigekix was a freestyle dancer. Now, he is recognised as a world-class b-boy who is known for his fast and incredibly controlled power moves and sudden, on-beat execution of solid freezes.
He describes his breaking style as based on musicality, intricate patterns, and technical, explosive power moves.
A defining moment in Shigekix's young career was winning the under 12s Baby Battle in 2014 at Chelles Battle Pro in France (despite not making the cut a year earlier), where he battled American B-Boy, Lil Demon, in the finals and won. Coming up as a young b-boy, Shigekix had admired Lil Demon and had even lost to him in 2012 at B-1 Saikyo Jam. Shigekix saw that battle and loss as something that pushed him to grow and eventually smoke his idol in 2014.
Since then, Shigekix has gone on to win the 2016 1on1 Nothing2Looz World Final Kids battle, the 2016 Hustle and Freeze solo battle, and the 2016 Marseille Battle Pro 1on1 Kids battle.
In 2017, at only 15 years old, Shigekix competed for the first time at the Red Bull BC One World Final in Amsterdam. He made it to the semi-finals and made history as the youngest breaker to ever be invited to compete at the World Final.
His ability for breaking records didn't end there. In 2018, Shigekix was among the b-boys and b-girls who made history by competing in the first-ever breaking competition at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, where he took the third place.
Shigekix is now a Red Bull BC One All Star and has secured accolades around the world. One of his proudest breaking achievements is his victory at the Red Bull BC One World Final 2020. In 2023, he won gold at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, which directly qualified him for the 2024 Games in Paris, France, where he came in fourth place.
His older sister, world champion B-Girl Ayane, is his biggest inspiration and is a fellow crew member on K.A.K.B. As a kid Shigekix watched Ayane compete and practice and says that she's truly the spark that made him start breaking.
Off the dancefloor, Shigekix loves to be creative and spends most of his time drawing, doing 3D art and photography.
