With major leagues scattered across the globe, and countless semi pro and amateur tournaments happening every day, there are a lot of very good League of Legends players out there. Some of the best in the world right now are fighting it out over in China for the annual World Championship, where teams from all the major regions compete to become the best team in the world.
But while Worlds will decide who the best team in the world is right now, it won’t help decide who the best player is. The best player in the world could be on a team where they are the star and if the rest don’t perform, they don't win.
To decide once and for all who the best League of Legends player in the world is, we tracked down a load of top level pros and asked who they think the honour goes to. As you might expect, one name features quite a lot.

Who is the best League player in the world?

We ask pro players questions related to gameplay that are fun and informative.

Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok takes home the most votes by far, with almost everyone we interviewed declaring him Greatest Of All Time. The three-time world champion has been the centerpiece for SK Telecom T1 for years and has carried them to victory at every Worlds they have attended. His skill in the mid lane is pretty much unmatched and very few players ever come close to beating him in lane.
In fact only two other names were even mentioned by the pro players we spoke to. H2k’s Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu said that his team-mate Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski is the best in the world, while SKT’s Bae "Bang" Jun-sik also got a mention. That should settle matters – at least for now. Will this Worlds change the balance of power in the LCS? We’ll soon find out.
