Before they go head to head in their encounter against Ali Azmat this December in Red Bull Music SoundClash 2018, we sat down with Strings for a simple game we call “What’s On Your Playlist?” - and you’d be surprised to know some of the songs we uncovered!
According to both, Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood, the duo grew up listening to a wide array of artists that eventually formulated their taste and musical influences. And to this day, this diversity in taste and inspiration still exists.
For Faisal, U2 are certainly a big influence and inspiration, being one of the more common features in his all-time playlist.
On the contrary, Bilal’s library includes the likes of British Piano Rock band Keane, American rock group 30 Seconds to Mars, and the crowd favorite Coldplay.
While we were snooping through their playlists, we also got to know about their favorite songs of all time. And this list included some of the songs that most of the millennials in Pakistan have grown up listening to and always love singing along.
From the upbeat Pop track “Laari Adda” by Sajjad Ali of the yesteryears to the hard-hitting alternative rock song “Ujaalo Mein” by Faraz Anwer’s Mizraab, Strings hold their own music industry’s iconic numbers in the highest regard.
Faisal and Bilal also unanimously agreed upon the evergreen “Aitebar” by Vital Signs as one of their all-time favorites, while also adding the sensational “Manwa Re” by Noori to the list.
Without a doubt, it was exciting for us to uncover the playlist of a band that dominates millions of playlists themselves. In fact, here’s one we came across that you should definitely check out:
