At four years old, it was clear that the field was Trinity Rodman’s comfort zone. She was always focused on scoring and winning.
"I realised that soccer was going to be my thing when I couldn't accept that people could play a sport just for fun," Trinity says. "I was like, 'No way they're just playing soccer just to have fun.’ I think at a young age, I was just like, 'Can we score? What are we doing?' I knew that my heart was in the game and I wanted to push myself as far as I could go."
At 18, Trinity was the youngest player drafted (at that time) in the league’s history to the Washington Spirit where she started 22 of 25 games and scored seven goals, including two match winners. That same year, she was named NWSL Rookie of the Year, All-League, and US Young Player of the Year, all while helping her team win the 2021 NWSL Championship. The Newport Beach native has since been regularly called up to the US Women’s National Team, grabbing a spot in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad, before playing a key role in the USWNT's triumph at Paris 2024 and grabbing herself a gold medal. She is widely recognised as a key part of the future of the US soccer program and has been a finalist for the Ballon d’Or Feminin.
Despite her wild success, Trinity originally had other plans for her trajectory as an athlete. She intended to play college ball for the Washington State Cougars, but never played a match as her freshman season was cancelled due to the global health situation. Instead, she turned pro.
When she’s not progressing her sport from the pitch, Trinity is known for her strong sibling ties with her brother DJ. It’s important for her to connect with fans through her personality, and not just what she does on the field. Trinity is a fan of fashion and understands and appreciates the connectivity that social media offers, as she gives fans a glimpse into her life on TikTok, through dance, fashion hauls and her affinity for art.
Forward, both on the field and in her creative ambitions, Trinity is just scratching the surface of what will be an unrivalled legacy.
