Hideo Kojima, the legendary creator of the Metal Gear Solid series, has formed his own studio called Kojima Productions, and it will release its debut game on PS4 first. It will also be released on PC at a later date.
After news broke that Kojima had officially left Konami, the publishers of the Metal Gear series, Sony released a video to reveal their new signing. Kojima confirmed that he is working with PlayStation on an all-new franchise that will feature a "new and innovative gaming experience.

Having left Konami after nearly 30 years, Kojima is looking forward to working with Sony. He said: "I am happy to let you know that I have established my own independent studio today. And I'm excited to tell you that the first title from this new studio is a collaboration with PlayStation.
"I'm thrilled to embark on creating a new franchise with PlayStation that will give you all a new and innovative gaming experience so please stay tuned."
Sony Computer Entertainment President Andrew House added: "This is very exciting. All game fans, including myself, are looking forward to it. Kojima-san, on behalf of PlayStation and together with the fans, we'd like to offer our full support on your new journey."
What will his new PS4 game be? Many fans would like Kojima to continue his work on the Silent Hills game, the horror title that he was working on with film director Guillermo Del Toro. Konami cancelled the game, but nearly 200,000 fans have signed a petition calling for Silent Hills to be released. However, given that Kojima said that his first game with PlayStation will be a new franchise, this appears unlikely. As Kojima said, fans will have to stay tuned.
