Dominika Banevič, better known as B-Girl Nicka, was born in Vilnius, Lithuania. At just five years old she started watching breaking videos on YouTube, in between cartoons, and began trying out the moves on the carpet in her bedroom. She convinced her mother to enrol her in classes and they began the search for the best teacher Vilnius had to offer.
Since 2015, when she was eight, Nicka's commitment to breaking has remained entirely unwavering. At the start of her journey, her first and only coach, B-Boy BBloke, developed Nicka's breaking foundation and taught her to dig deeper, beyond the moves, to gain respect for her understanding of the culture, history and roots of breaking. But by the time she was 10, Nicka had chosen to forge her own path, training independently to develop her unique style.
Nicka is a true all-rounder – both physically and artistically – with a reputation for powerful moves and her signature UFO Spin.
She made her Red Bull BC One World Final debut in 2023 in Paris. Then, in 2024, she made history by representing the Lithuanian Olympic team and winning a silver medal in breaking at the Olympic Games in Paris.
Fast forward to the present and Nicka is a Red Bull BC One All Star and fronting glossy campaigns for Nike and Samsung. In her hometown of Vilnius, she has the first official open-air breaking space dedicated in her name, complete with a graffiti mural of Nicka herself. The space serves as a hub for the local community, hosting battles, training sessions, live DJs and growing the culture of breaking in Lithuania.
When she's not training, you'll find her collecting records to expand her music knowledge, taking ice plunges and cooking healthy meals. She also speaks four languages: Lithuanian, English, Polish, and Russian.
Even when her body is tired, Nicka says her soul and heart still want to practise. She's proud of being part of breaking history and raising the bar for b-girls everywhere, and is driven by a desire to inspire the next generation — by doing what she loves, "straight from the heart."
When Nicka battles, she wants the crowd to feel the joy she feels while dancing. She breaks to make 'little Nicka' proud – the girl who once dreamed of dancing on world-class stages.
The most important lesson she's learned is; “Don’t focus only on winning. Stay present, do your thing and trust that everything will come at the right time. Today is the biggest gift you can have, so give your best and be grateful for the moment."
