Anthony Volpe is paving the way for the next generation of baseball players. A shortstop who is known for his elite defense and explosive offensive potential, Volpe has quickly become one of the most exciting young talents in the game. After growing up in New Jersey and Manhattan, his childhood dreams came true when he was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 1st round in 2019.
Volpe's ascent through the ranks was nothing short of meteoric. By 2023, he earned a spot on the Yankees' Opening Day roster, and in his rookie season, he made history as the first Yankees rookie to hit 20 home runs and steal 20 bases in the same year. His combination of speed and power outstanding defensive performance has earned him a Gold Glove at shortstop, quickly cementing his place among the franchise’s greats. In 2024, Volpe continued to evolve, refining his swing, and improving his plate discipline while helping the Yankees reach the World Series for the first time in 15 years! He finished the regular season strong and became an October hero, hitting a grand slam in Game 4 of the World Series — the first by a Yankee since 1998.
