Birk Irving grew up in Winter Park, Colorado, where he started his slopestyle career at an early age. He did his first 360 at age 5 and got his first sponsor just two years later.
On the USA Team since the age of 14, Birk comes from an avid skiing family. His father, Brendan Irving, works for ski patrol, while his mother, Stephanie Irving, is a former alpine racing coach. His sister also competes in halfpipe and slopestyle.
At age 16, Birk won the gold in the 2016 Youth Olympics and, in 2017, claimed third in the Aspen X Games and third again at the FIS Freestyle Skiing World Championship.
Birk is a 2022 Olympian, competing for the USA in Beijing in 2022. He's won the halfpipe Crystal Globe for the 2022-23 season, is a 4x World Cup winner, and has brought home 2x X Games medals in 2021 and 2023.
Competing in both halfpipe and superpipe, Birk continues to challenge for podium places in high-profile competitions around the world. When he's not hitting the slopes, his hobbies include mountain biking and surfing.
