Dane Jackson knows whitewater. The freestyle kayaker grew up travelling the USA in an RV with his family, getting homeschooled by his mother and chasing kayaking competitions with his father, Eric Jackson, an Olympic paddler and founder of the company Jackson Kayaks.
Dane dominated nearly every junior world title early on in his career and by 2011 he'd started winning pro-level contests, including the Whitewater Grand Prix and the IFC Freestyle World Championships, distinguishing himself as more than just his father’s son.
The paddling prodigy has been featured in Kayak Session and Rapid Magazine, launched first descents of waterfalls in Mexico and beyond, and has racked up more than 80 first-place finishes in freestyle kayaking competitions.
In recent years Dane has continued to push the progression of his sport through explorations in the U.S., Chile, Zambia, Mexico, Canada and numerous other countries around the world. He also become the first Athlete to complete the famed Green River Race in under 4 minutes – a milestone moment in his sport which he achieved in 2022.
The Tennessee native still travels eight months out of the year, attending events, clinics and living his passion.
