As a child, Dominique Charrier enjoyed playing on the rocks with friends and watching big waves in Punta de Lobos, Chile. With a father who makes surfboards, she was destined for the water. Her dad made her first surfboard when she was just six months old and still makes all her boards.

After catching her first wave, she was hooked. Punta de Lobos's cold and strong waves were an excellent teacher. It wasn't until 2021 that Dominique had her first big wave session. She knew immediately that big wave surfing was all she wanted to do.
