A freestyle skier hailing from the town of Wanaka, New Zealand, Finn Bilous came to the attention of many when he was the flagbearer at the Winter Youth Games in Lillehammer in 2016. Competing in two events, he won New Zealand's first-ever medal with silver in the halfpipe and followed it up with bronze in the slopestyle competition.
He then made a name for himself on the international stage with a series of impressive performances in FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup events, securing his first medal in 2018 when he won bronze in the big air competition on home snow in Cardrona, New Zealand.
Later that year, Bilous represented his country at the Winter Games in PyeongChang and four years later was the flag bearer for his country as he competed in the slopestyle competition at the Beijing Games.
Transitioning to big mountain riding
With a decorated slopestyle and big air career under his belt, Bilous pivoted toward the big mountains and in 2023 got a wildcard spot on the Freeride World Tour.
The transition proved successful as he earned a second place finish at the 2024 Verbier Pro and became a favourite in Matchstick Productions’ films.
Having learnt a lot from his time on the Freeride World Tour and competing on the Natural Selection Tour, Bilous aims to improve his skills and take his talent to the next level.
