Hunter Lawrence has already accomplished a list of wins that few professional racers could hope to achieve: FIM European Championship and FIM World Motocross Championship, the Motocross of Nations, AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross, Hunter's won races in all of them.
A winner on three continents, it all started for Hunter and younger brother Jett in Queensland, Australia, where the brothers kickstarted their motocross racing careers. With the titles quickly racking up at home, the Lawrence family sold everything and boarded a plane to Europe in 2016 in order to give the brothers a shot on the international stage.
Hunter immediately made a splash in the EMX250 European Championship – the traditional stepping stone to the world championship for young racing talent – where he won the German round, earning him a ride in the MX2 World Championship.
A debut world championship season in 2017 netted Hunter a trio of podium finishes followed by a headline-grabbing overall MX2 class victory at the Motocross of Nations and he scored three more podiums in an injury-hit 2018 series, but the bright lights of AMA Supercross stadiums were calling.
The American racing scene was always the dream destination for the Lawrence brothers and that dream came true when both were snapped up for the 2019 season by the powerhouse Geico Honda team.
Again, Hunter made an immediate impression on American soil, winning motos and scoring two overall podium finishes during the AMA Motocross Championship, before injury and illness ravaged his 2020 so severely that he actually considered retirement.
You can't keep a good man down however and freshly signed by HRC Honda to partner his younger brother, Hunter has found his top form again, winning his first AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross titles in 2023 to enjoy a clean-sweep of the 250 class.
Along with his brother, Hunter is leading the next generation of Australian racers and he's only just getting started.
