Jake Dearden is a former ultra marathon runner and functional fitness competitor who found his calling in the fast-growing fitness race, HYROX. Combining his endurance background and passion for functional fitness, Jake quickly realized he was the ideal athlete for the sport, which challenges competitors with eight 1-kilometre runs and eight intense workout stations.
As one of the brightest stars in the HYROX community, Jake has firmly established himself as a leading figure in the sport. Competing in the Elite 15 category – the highest level in HYROX where only the top 15 athletes globally can compete – Jake is a consistent force on the world stage. Beyond his athletic achievements, Jake is also a HYROX Master Trainer, dedicated to helping others achieve their potential in the sport.
A force in the Men's Doubles
In 2024, Jake and his partner Marc Dean claimed the Men's Doubles title at the HYROX World Championships in Nice, France, solidifying their place among the sport’s elite. In 2025, Jake teamed up with his competitor James Kelly to set what was then a HYROX Pro Double World Record, completing the challenge in an impressive 50:04 minutes.
Reflecting on qualifying for the 2025 World Championships while setting a new PB of 55:44 at the HYROX Glasgow, Dearden shared: "Last night was incredible. A memory I’ll have for the rest of my life. To race amongst the best. To have family and friends come and support. To have insane support from the crowd."
At the HYROX London EMEA event in 2026, Jake scored a personal best time of 49:07 in the Men's Elite 15 Doubles with his partner Jake Williamson.

Dearden has built up a reputation for consistency in HYROX, earning multiple podium finishes in both solo and doubles races. He competes at a high level individually, while his success in doubles – where he has secured several wins and top finishes – highlights his strong race strategy and teamwork.
