'jordy2d' took up streaming as a hobby in 2020, quickly gaining viral popularity on TikTok, thanks to a couple of things. The first reason, his comedic gameplay clips gained a lot of traction based purely on his high-energy sense of humour. The second reason: a bargain bin Sonic the Hedgehog costume. Wearing the costume was only supposed to be a one-time thing, but it became a staple part of his routine where he tries to convince his audience that he never takes it off.
“My most popular content is anything that kind of subverts expectations,” says jordy2d on his comedic process.
Although Jordy created content casually, he blew up almost overnight after taking a unique approach to clipping Call of Duty: Warzone. It didn’t take long for the hype to spill over onto his Twitch stream, where you can find him playing a variety of shooters, unpacking Pokémon cards, and reacting to things. Loudly.
In less than two years, jordy2d has accumulated 72 million likes on his TikTok videos and almost 500,000 followers on Twitch. Despite coming off a little untamed when the energy is high, he manages to balance the chaos through charity streams for organisations like Movember and the Canadian Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Outside of gaming and charity streams, jordy2d likes to spend time with friends and family or watch copious amounts of anime.
