One of four kids, Mari Fukada looked up to her older brother and sister, who were already extremely into snowboarding when she was little, so she naturally picked it up as well. The young Mari first got on a snowboard when she was seven years old. Initially, it was just about having fun snowboarding, but when her brother started doing slopestyle, Mari wanted in on it, too.

Now one of the hottest-rated talents on the circuit, Mari balances pushing for progression while maintaining style. The rising star announced herself to the world by winning the 2022 FIS Big Air World Cup in Copper Mountain, USA – her first time entering. She's been at the forefront of the women's big air scene ever since and continues to rack up podium spots and wins; including two World Cup wins and three podiums, plus a World Championship bronze in 2024-25 alone - her most successful season so far.
