An Olympian as a teenager, Wenhui Zeng was selected to train as a skateboarder in 2017, around the age of 12, and one year later made her professional skateboarding debut at the International Skateboarding Open. Quickly growing her skills, she placed fourth at the 2018 Asian Games and went on to win the China National Skateboarding Championship in 2019 and 2020.

At Tokyo 2020, she was one of only 20 women competing in the women's street skateboarding event. Zeng made it to the final and finished sixth overall, the best result ever for Chinese skateboarding in major competitions – and she was just 15 years old.
