THIS PROMOTION IS DESIGNED AS A SKILL COMPETITION. WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. USE CAUTION AND COMMON SENSE WHEN PARTICIPATING IN THIS COMPETITION. RESPECT AND ENSURE THE SAFETY OF YOURSELF AND OTHERS.

THERE IS NO FEE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENT.

THIS COMPETITION IS AN IN-PERSON EVENT. ANYONE FEELING SICK, WITH A TEMPERATURE AT OR ABOVE 100.4° F, OR WITH KNOWLEDGE THEY HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE WITH COVID-19 SHOULD STAY HOME AND FOLLOW CDC GUIDANCE AND LOCAL HEALTH & SAFETY REGULATIONS AND GUIDANCE WHERE ANY EVENT IN THIS COMPETITION TAKES PLACE TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF COVID-19. PROOF OF VACCINATION, NEGATIVE COVID TEST(S), FACEMASKS, AND SOCIAL DISTANCING MAY BE REQUIRED FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS. PARTICIPANTS SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL ON-SITE SAFETY PROTOCOLS. PERSONS DEVELOPING OR EXHIBITING SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 OR BREAKING SAFETY PROTOCOL MAY BE DENIED ENTRANCE TO AND/OR DISQUALIFIED FROM THE EVENT AND SENT HOME.

Red Bull Open Ignition (the “Tournament”) is an F1® 22 racing simulation video game tournament that is open to the general public and is sponsored by Red Bull North America, Inc. (“Red Bull” or “Sponsor”). The Tournament is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Void where prohibited by law. Employees, agents, directors, officers (including members of their immediate family – i.e., spouse, mother, father, in-laws, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, children and grandchildren – or those living in the same household) of Red Bull, Electronic Arts Inc., Game Arena Co., LLC, Ignite Gaming, Inc., and each of their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising agencies, public relations agencies, prize suppliers, including any vendors providing services in connection with this Tournament (collectively, the “Related Entities”), are not eligible to participate.

1. ELIGIBILITY: The competition (as described below), is open to legal US residents who are at least eighteen (18) years of age and the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence as of the date of registration. There are 30 spots available for registered players at each Qualifier Location (defined below) for each Tournament Event (defined below), for a total of 180 spots available in the Open Qualifiers. There are 20 spots available for registered players at each Qualifier Location for each Last Chance Qualifier, for a total of 40 spots available.

Open Qualifiers

Players may register to compete (i) in the Columbus, Ohio Qualifier Location beginning at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on the Monday prior to the applicable qualifying day, and (ii) in the Chicago, Illinois Qualifier Location beginning at 10:00 a.m. Central Time (“CT”) the Friday prior to the applicable qualifying day; and ending the earlier of (i) upon the registration of thirty (30) total competing participants at each Qualifier Location (defined below) for each date (each, a “Tournament Event”), or (ii) at the local start of time of that week’s qualifier. The Tournament will take place at the following dates and locations (each, a “Qualifier Location”) (all dates in 2022):

Game Arena at 1556 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43201 (the “Ohio Location”), each to begin at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET, subject to change in Sponsor’s sole discretion:

Sunday, September 4;  

Sunday, September 11; and 

Sunday, October 9. 

Ignite Gaming Lounge at 8125 Skokie Boulevard, Skokie, Illinois 60077 (the “Illinois Location”), each to begin at approximately 7:00 p.m. CT, subject to change in Sponsor’s sole discretion:

Thursday, September 8; 

Thursday, September 29; and 

Thursday, October 6. 

Last Chance Qualifier: Players may register to compete in the Last Chance Qualifier at the Ohio Location beginning 10:00 a.m. ET on October 17, 2022, and ending the earlier of (i) upon the registration of twenty (20) total competing participants, or (ii) at 10:00 a.m. ET on October 23, 2022; and players may register to compete in the Last Chance Qualifier at the Illinois Location beginning 10:00 a.m. CT on October 17, 2022, and ending the earlier of (i) upon the registration of twenty (20) competing participants, or (ii) at 10:00 a.m. CT on October 23, 2022. The Last Chance Qualifier for both the Ohio Location and Illinois Location will take place on October 23, 2022, at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET and CT, respectively, subject to change in Sponsor’s sole discretion.

*Please note: Players who have qualified for either Open Ignition Final via the Ohio and Illinois Open Qualifiers are not eligible to register for any Last Chance Qualifier.

Red Bull Open Ignition Final: Players may participate in the Red Bull Open Ignition Final by placing in the Open Qualifiers or Last Chance Qualifier according to the Game Play Rules set forth below. A Red Bull Open Ignition Final will take place at both the Ohio Location and the Illinois Location on October 23, 2022, at approximately 2:00 p.m. ET and CT, respectively, subject to change in Sponsor’s sole discretion.

Registration is completed on a first come-first served basis.

To register for the Tournament, participants must either (1) visit redbull.com/open-ignition, fill out all the required information, and follow on-screen instructions, or (2) visit the Qualifier Location on the day of the Tournament Event, fill out all of the required information, and follow any instructions provided on-site. Players can only register once for each Tournament Event, but there is no limit on the number of Open Qualifiers for which players can register.

2. GAME PLAY RULES:

Open Qualifier & Last Chance Qualifier

Contestants at each of the Tournament Events will be randomly placed in line and given an estimated time at which the contestant is expected to compete (subject to change in Sponsor’s sole discretion). Each contestant will compete in one (1) three-lap race on the F1® 22 racing simulation game and gaming equipment. The fastest of the three laps will be the contestant’s qualifying time to determine if that contestant will advance to the Red Bull Open Ignition Final and which seed the contestant will fill in the Red Bull Open Ignition Final, if any. The eight (8) contestants with the fastest verified lap times will advance to the Red Bull Open Ignition Final, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.

All contestants in each Tournament Event will compete on the same track and in the same car, to be determined in the Tournament organizer’s sole discretion. Practice time will be available prior to each Tournament Event, subject to change in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Contestants may participate in all three Open Qualifiers at each location, even if the contestant has placed in the top 8 of a previous Open Qualifier. The contestant’s fastest lap time across all Open Qualifiers will determine the contestant’s seed in the applicable Red Bull Open Ignition Final bracket. A contestant may only enter the Last Chance Qualifier if he or she has not qualified for the Red Bull Open Ignition Final in the Open Qualifiers.

Red Bull Open Ignition Final

Contestants will be placed in a single-elimination bracket consisting of winners from each of the Open Qualifiers and Last Chance Qualifiers. Contestants will be placed in the bracket according to their performance in the Open Qualifier or Last Chance Qualifier—i.e., the first-place contestants in each Open Qualifier will be randomly placed in seeds 1, 2, and 3; the second-place contestants in each Open Qualifier will be randomly placed in seeds 4, 5, and 6; etc. The winners from the Last Chance Qualifier will fill seeds 25 through 32. Contestants will participate in 1-vs-1 races on the provided F1® 22 racing simulation game and gaming equipment. Contestants will be eliminated from the Red Bull Open Ignition Final upon losing a race. The last remaining contestant will be selected as the Red Bull Open Ignition Final winner, as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. The verified winner will receive the prize package as set forth below.

Code of Conduct

The event has a zero-tolerance policy toward violence, threats of violence, intimidation, inappropriate contact, harassment (sexual or otherwise), and other forms of personal misconduct. Any incident or threat of violence, harassment, aggressive intimidation, or inappropriate contact of any kind will result in a minimum 1-year to lifetime attendance ban at future Sponsor events.

Attendees of the Tournament agree to be bound by the decisions of Sponsor, Tournament administrators, and anyone acting on their behalf, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify or remove any individual it finds to be tampering with the type, process, or operation of the event, to be acting in violation of event rules, to be causing a disturbance to the event and its attendees, or this code of conduct.

You have been fully informed of, and agreed to, the Tournament code of conduct prior to participating in the Tournament.

Disqualifications

Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any participant for not following Tournament rules and/or an individual game’s Tournament rules. If you are disqualified from a game, you are not entitled to a refund. If you need assistance, ask a Tournament Official. Tournament Official rulings are final.

Collusion

Conspiring with your fellow competitors is considered cheating. If Sponsor or Tournament administrators determine that you have colluded to manipulate Tournament results you will be immediately disqualified. For the avoidance of doubt, intentionally under-performing to advance a friend is collusion. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to titles, prizes, and bragging rights they would have earned. Determinations are made at the sole discretion of Sponsor and/or Tournament administrators. Bracket runners and judges cannot, and will not, make this determination.

Bugs & Glitches

Intentionally triggering a bug or glitch that stops the game from being played counts as a loss for the triggering player. Discovering a bug or glitch in Tournament does not count as a loss. It is at your judge’s discretion to determine culpability.

3. PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize Winner from each Red Bull Open Ignition Final will receive the following prize, for a maximum total of two (2) Grand Prize Winners:

Attendance for Grand Prize Winner and a guest to a Red Bull Racing Experience to occur in the 2023 calendar year, including travel, accommodations, and food/beverage.

Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of each prize to be awarded: $5,000.

Travel-Related Prizes: All travel arrangements must be made through Sponsor’s agent. Any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specifically provided herein (such as security fees, gratuities, luggage fees, meals and transportation, service charges or facility charges, personal charges at lodging, security fees, taxes, and all other expenses not specified above) are the sole responsibility of winner(s). Prize winner(s) may be required to present a credit card at time of hotel check-in. Ground transportation may be provided in lieu of air transportation if winning entrant(s) resides within a 100-mile radius of destination, and no compensation or substitution will be provided for difference in value. Guests of winners must meet Tournament eligibility requirements. Each winner and guest must possess and show valid travel documents, prior to departure (e.g., proof of vaccination and/or negative COVID test(s), passport, visa, valid driver’s license, or other acceptable government-issued identification), and must sign a Release of Liability/Publicity and any other documents provided to him or her prior to ticketing. In the event the Grand Prize winner(s) does have a valid passport and/or valid travel documents for any required travel, as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion, such competitor will be disqualified. Once airline tickets have been ticketed, no changes will be permitted. Sponsor will determine airline, airports, flight itinerary, and hotel in its sole discretion. Travel and accommodation restrictions, conditions, and limitations may apply. Sponsor will not replace any lost, mutilated, or stolen tickets or travel vouchers. No refund or compensation will be paid in the event of the cancellation or delay of the trip prize (“Event”), or any portion thereof. Sponsor will not be liable if the Event, or any portion of it, is cancelled or delayed. Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, attempt to reschedule for a future event. Event access is subject to certain terms and conditions as specified by Event location. Any terms and conditions for the Event may govern if the Event is cancelled due to weather, an act of God, an act of terrorism, civil disturbance, public health crisis, or any other reason. Exact details shall be determined in the sole discretion of Sponsor.

Federal, state, and local taxes on prizes, if any, and any other costs, fees and expenses not listed above as specifically included as part of the prize are the sole responsibility of winner. ALL TAXES ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNERS. An IRS form 1099 and other tax-related forms and documents may be issued by Red Bull, or Related Entities, if required by law.

4. PRIZE TERMS: All prizes are awarded “AS IS.” Neither Red Bull nor Related Entities make or offer any warranty or guarantee, either express or implied (including, without limitation, quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) in connection with this Tournament or any prize. Prize details and availability are subject to change, in which case a prize of equal value may be substituted at Red Bull’s sole discretion. Prizes consist only of the items listed, are non-transferable, with no cash redemption (other than for the check prizes) or substitution except at Red Bull’s sole discretion. Prizes are subject to terms, conditions, expiration dates, and restrictions imposed by the manufacturer/issuer of the prize. Federal, state, and local taxes on prizes, if any, and any other costs, fees and expenses not listed above as specifically included as part of the prize are the sole responsibility each Player. ALL TAXES ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER. An IRS form 1099 and other tax-related forms and documents may be issued by Red Bull, or Related Entities, if required by law.

5. REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES: Each Player (for the remainder of these Tournament Rules, collectively “you”) represent and warrant:

A. You will not engage in any unsportsmanlike conduct during the Tournament. If Red Bull or any designated administrator needs to resolve any issue relating to your conduct, then any decision made will be final and not appealable except in Red Bull’s sole discretion. Any player collusion, offensive remark, or other infraction as determined by Sponsor, may, as determined in Red Bull’s sole discretion, result in disqualification.

B. You will not violate or infringe upon the rights of any person or entity, including without limitation copyrights, trademarks or rights of privacy or publicity, and must not act in any way that, in Red Bull’s sole discretion, is defamatory, threatening, indecent, obscene or offensive, pornographic, lewd, sexually explicit, inappropriate, objectionable, unlawful, in violation of or contrary to any applicable laws or regulations. You must not disparage or cast a negative light on any person, entity, or brand, product, or service.

C. You will not reference any names, products or services of any company or entity or any third-party trademarks, logos, trade dress or promotion of any brand, product, or service during your participation in the Tournament.

D. You will comply fully with these Official Tournament Rules and the Game Play Rules, as applicable.

E. You will comply with all of the Electronic Arts Inc. software terms and requirements including but not limited to any end-user license agreements, terms of service, (https://www.ea.com/legal).

F. You will abide by all laws, regulations, ordinances, and rules, and that you will not harm, attempt to harm, or threaten to harm any person (including yourself) or property in relation to or during your participation in the Tournament.

If you violate any of the foregoing Representations and Warranties, you may be disqualified from the Tournament at any time in Sponsor’s sole discretion. You agree to reimburse Red Bull and Related Entities in full for any losses, damages, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees that you may sustain from you breaching these Tournament Rules.

6. LICENSES/RELEASES/RIGHT OF PUBLICITY: By participating in the Tournament: (1) you grant to Red Bull a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, freely assignable license to reproduce your registration and any images, descriptions, audio, or video of your participation in the Tournament and to otherwise use, exploit, copy, modify, adapt, edit, publish and display your registration and any images, descriptions, audio, or video of your participation in the Tournament in any form, manner, venue, media or technology now known or later developed for any and all purposes, including, without limitation, for purposes of trade, advertising, and promotion as Red Bull or and its licensees or assignees determine, without further compensation, notification, or permission; (2) you hereby waive any moral rights you may have in any images, descriptions, audio, or video of your participation in the Tournament in favor of the Red Bull; and (3) you also grant to Red Bull the worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, fully sub-licensable, and freely transferable right, but not the obligation, to use any and all names, identities, titles, likenesses, distinctive appearances, physical likenesses, images, portraits, pictures, photographs (whether still or moving), screen personas, voices, vocal styles, statements, gestures, mannerisms, personalities, performance characteristics, biographical data, signatures, and any other indicia or imitations of identity or likeness listed, provided, referenced, or otherwise contained in your registration or your Tournament participation for purposes of advertising and trade, in any format, medium, or technology now known or later developed without further notice, approval, or compensation, unless prohibited by law. At Red Bull’s request and in its sole discretion and to further document the foregoing, you agree to execute an assignment and release transferring all rights and ownership, if any, any images, descriptions, audio, or video of your participation in the Tournament to Red Bull, the form of such assignment to be determined by Red Bull in its sole discretion.

7. WINNER NOTIFICATION/RELEASES: Confirmation that a player is a potential prize winners will be made upon completion of the events in this Tournament. Each player may be required, in Red Bull’s sole discretion, to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility (or Declaration of Eligibility), a scan or photo of government-issued ID, Release of Liability and/or, if legally permissible, a Publicity Release before claiming a prize.

8. MARKETING: Submission of contact information in connection with this Tournament (whether or not required), including, without limitation, mailing address, phone number, email address, or any other identifying information, during registration constitutes permission for Red Bull to use entrant’s personal information for purposes of administration of the Tournament. Entrants also may opt-in to be added to Red Bull’s customer database and to permit Red Bull to contact entrant in the future for promotional and other reasons. You may opt-out of receiving such communications as set forth in Red Bull’s Privacy Policy (located at http://www.redbull.com/pp/en_US) or as provided within any such marketing materials (e.g., using the “Unsubscribe” feature provided in the footer of Red Bull’s e-mails). The information you provide will only be used in accordance with Red Bull’s Privacy Policy.

9. NO LIABILITY & INDEMNIFICATION: By entering this Tournament, you agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Red Bull, Red Bull Affiliates, Electronic Arts Inc., Game Arena Co., LLC, Ignite Gaming, Inc., and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns (the “Released Parties”) from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of, or relating to, your participation in this Tournament or any Tournament-related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded hereunder (including, without limitation, any misrepresentation made by the entrant in connection with the Tournament; any non-compliance by the entrant with these Official Rules; claims brought by persons or entities other than the parties to these Official Rules arising from or related to the entrant’s involvement with the Tournament; acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in any Tournament-related activity or participation in this Tournament; any malfunction, error or other problem arising in connection with the collection, processing, or retention of registration information; any software, hardware, internet connection, or malfunction, error, or other problem affecting an entrant’s participation in the Tournament, or any typographical or other error in the printing, offering or announcement of any prize or winner). The foregoing includes, without limitation, any claim for personal injury, property loss or damage, or death arising in any way in connection with the Tournament.

10. OTHER TERMS: Decisions of Red Bull on all matters related to the Tournament are final and binding. Red Bull reserves the right to cancel or modify the Tournament for any reason, including but not limited to, if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy the integrity of the Tournament, or if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper administration of the Tournament as determined by Red Bull, in its sole discretion. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE OPERATION OF THIS TOURNAMENT MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL & CIVIL LAWS. RED BULL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY AND/OR SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY INDIVIDUAL MAKING ANY SUCH ATTEMPTS TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

11. RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY: Red Bull reserves the right to disqualify or prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud or tampering is suspected; if the individual fails to comply with any requirement of participation or with any provision in these Official Rules; if the individual’s behavior or communication at any point is disruptive, may or does cause damage or to any person, property, or reputation of Red Bull; or is otherwise not in accordance with all applicable laws and generally accepted social practices as determined in Red Bull’s sole discretion.

12. GOVERNING LAW & MANDATORY ARBITRATION: Any disputes arising under this Event and/or these Official Rules will be governed by relevant U.S. federal statutes and regulations and the internal laws of the State of California. Sponsor and each entrant agree that any such claim or dispute between the parties, or between a party and any agent, employee, successor, or assign of the other, related to this Event and/or these Official Rules (including the applicability of this arbitration clause) shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the JAMS under its rules and procedures in effect when the claim is filed. The rules and procedures and other information, including information on fees, may be obtained from JAMS’ website (www.jamsadr.com) or by calling JAMS at 949-224-1810. Any award by the arbitrator(s) may be entered as a judgment in any court having jurisdiction.

13. SEVERABILITY: If any provision(s) of these Official Rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions hereof will remain in full force and effect.

14. DISCREPANCY: In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Official Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Tournament-related materials, including but not limited to the Tournament entry form, point of sale, television, print or online advertising, the terms and conditions of these Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control.

15. NO AFFILIATION: This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Electronic Arts Inc. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Tournament should be directed to Red Bull.
