What is Red Bull Championship Run?

Red Bull Championship Run offers fans the opportunity to test their skills in the ultimate balance competition - your big game before the big game. Two contestants at a time will square off to see who can capture the flag at the end of the goal post. In true tradition to that of the weekend, you'll represent either the home or away team.

When and where is Red Bull Championship Run?

Red Bull Championship Run is being held at Volunteer Landing Park in Knoxville, TN. The event will kick off at 4:00pm witih Opening Ceremonies and head right into head to head competition.

Can anyone participate in Red Bull Championship Run?

As long as you are 18+ and older, you can sign up for Red Bull Championship Run. Due to event timing, we will have to cap the number of entries. Entries are available on a first come, first serve basis.

How many people are allowed to participate in Red Bull Championship Run?

The event will consist of 160 participants in the qualifying heats and will lead into an 8 person bracket.

How do I know if I've earned a spot?

If your application is accepted for you to participate in Red Bull Championship Run, you will receive a confirmation email with further instructions to lock in your spot.

Can I sign up at the event?

Unfortunately not, we will only have pre-registered contestants testing their skills at the event. Please refer to our registration page to make sure you do everything you can to get a spot!

What are the rules? How do you win?

Event Format
•Round Breakdown
-Qualifying Heats (80 Heats)
-Final 8 Bracket
-Final 8→ 4 heats
-Semifinals → 2 heats
-Final → 1 heat to crown the Champion
•Advancement to Final 8
-The top 8 scores (time/distance/flag) will advance to the Final 8 bracket where there will be a head-to-head competition to determine the overall winner of Red Bull Championship Run.
-A winner is determined by the competitor that grabs the flag in the shortest amount of time. Should no competitor grab the flag, the winner will be determined by the competitor that covers the farthest distance on the pole in the shortest amount of time
Timing & Judging
•Each heat will be judged by a head referee and three sideline judges.
-Sideline Judges will track the following:
-Time
-Distance
-Y/N – Grabbed the flag
-The top 8 scores during qualifying heats afvance to the Final 8 Bracket.

What should I wear?

We encourage both participants and spectators to represent their favorite team at Red Bull Championship Run! Participants will be required to wear a helmet at PFD (Provided by Red Bull) and are required to wear closed toe shoes.

I'm a student participating in the event. When do I need to be there?

Participants must be onsite at the event location by 3pm ET.
Shuttles will depart from Frat Row on campus at 2:30pm.
Ensure to arrive early to secure your spot on the bus.
Continuous shuttle service will be provided throughout the day.
Shuttles will accommodate both participants and spectators.
The shuttles will run to and from Volunteer Landing and Fraternity Park Drive
