What is 'street snowboarding'?

Street Snowboarding is a discipline of snowboarding that celebrates creativity and features riders performing tricks on obstacles that are often found outside of ski resorts trails including handrails, ledges, stairs, fences, and gaps.

How can I qualify for the finals?

There are two qualifiers this year where riders can compete to participate in Red Bull Heavy Metal Boston. Riders can apply for the Minneapolis or Pittsburgh qualifier events.

Who will be competing in Red Bull Heavy Metal Boston?

Top level snowboarders will be invited to participate in Red Bull Heavy Metal Boston. There will be one spot available for the top male and female rider at each of the qualifiers.

What time does the event start?

Gates will open for spectators at 2:00 PM ET and the competition will begin around 2:30 PM ET. The event will wrap up around 5:30 PM ET.

Yes, there will be food trucks in City Hall Plaza with food and drink items available to purchase.

What types of amenities will be onsite?

Amenities include food and beverage sales, bathrooms, event partner exhibits, and event DJ & hosts.

What should I bring?

The event takes place outdoors so please dress appropriately. The following items are also allowed: collapsible chairs, blankets, baby strollers, food and beverages, binoculars, personal camera equipment.

The following items are prohibited onsite: weapons of any kind, alcohol, glass containers, pets, illegal vending.
