On June 14, Mark Webber will step back into a prototype sports car and head out onto the Circuit de La Sarthe – the track that since 1923 has hosted the Le Mans 24 Hour race – to do something that, despite two previous appearances at Le Mans, he has never yet managed: drive a racing lap there.A failing car in 1998 and a flying one in 1999 – when the AMG-Mercedes that Webber was driving famously took off down the Mulsanne straight – put paid to the young Australian's Le Mans dreams back then.
15 years on and Webber will be back at the iconic race driving for another German marque, Porsche, with the Stuttgart-based manufacturer having signed up to the World Endurance Championship for 2014 with its radical 919 hybrid.Redbull.com has been following Webber's journey as the former Formula One star begins a new chapter in his racing life. In this, the fourth and final edition of our exclusive Mark Webber returns to Le Mans video series, we see how Porsche's final preparations are going for their return to the LMP1 class at Le Mans and how Mark himself is feeling about heading back to La Sarthe.
