Long before the sisters conquered the Internet, two of them played songs like 'It's a Hair Thing.'

The Haim sisters (and their drummer Dash Hutton, if that is his real name) are about to unleash one of the most anticipated debut album of summer, 'Days Are Gone,' and they've been supporting the release by playing every festival on the planet (even ones like Pukkelpop and Bitterzoet, which sound like they require a magic amulet to get into).

If you've seen them live you're pretty familiar with their pounding, Hendrix-invoking set. But long before Danielle rawked a Gibson SG and growled through a mane of unruly hair, she and sister Este were in the band Valli Girls, a pre-fab pop-rock band that sang songs like 'It's A Hair Thing,' which had the distinction of appearing in the TV series 'Trollz.'
This was something like eight years ago, but as you can see in the videos above, even back then Este was making her patented super-intense bass face.
Valli Girls didn't last too long -- though probably long enough for Danielle and Este -- but the group did manage to score a tender ballad in 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' soundtrack. With Haim's current propensity to cover lost hits, perhaps one day they'll put a new spin on 'Perfect Girl' or 'Don't Gotta.'
