RAW: Lee Wilson

Filmer Jimmy Kinnaird brings us this smooth yet radical profile of Balinese ripper Lee Wilson in our latest Raw edit.

English

In the high octane waves of Bali, Lee Wilson stands atop the totem when it comes to radical ripping and progressive performance. Not afraid to lay waste to his equipment, and far from scared of hurting himself, time and again the half-Indonesian, half-Australian natural footer throws himself into serious slabs.
You might remember Wilson as our Balinese tour guide in this year's Indonesian episode of No Contest or running amok in close friend Julian Wilson's incredible Swamp Duck movie from a couple of years ago. Now we want to give him own stage to perform on.
It's fair to say that if Wilson is surfing, Jimmy 'Jazz Cat' Kinnaird will be perched on the black sand, with his long lens locked on his favourite subject. The two minutes of film fury above are the result of great mates going hard over the past few months in the tubes of Bali's East Coast and the ramps of the West. Between the filmer and subject, you can also safely assume that Joey Griffiths will be bobbing around with his water housing, collecting the stills you see below.
We like this edit a lot, and think you will, too, so hit play and enjoy the show, as Wilson lights up his favourite waves the length of the Balinese high season.
