Logistx was the Season 2 winner of the dance competition show, NBC’s World of Dance, as part of The Lab crew. Logistx’s talent was showcased to a nationwide audience a year later on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019.
Finding mentors
Throughout her career, she’s had renowned mentors and collaborators to guide her. In Logistx’s early stages, she took B-Girl Valpal’s breaking class, which led to Valpal eventually recruiting Logistx into her Underground Flow crew.
Trainer Shotyme also took her under his wing to further bring out “up top” dancing and work on improving stiff moves.
“I think one of the reasons a lot of my mentors wanted to mentor me was because they saw how dedicated I was to the craft. Also, I would say, always being a student is very important, plus it's also important to find yourself,” she says.
Team ups and collaborations
Logistx signed on as an official Red Bull athlete in 2019 to continue carving her path in breaking. Red Bull even put her on a limited-edition Red Bull can. She’s an ambassador for the culture, bringing breaking into homes around the world and inspiring the next generation of b-girls.
Throughout her career, Logistx wanted to define herself and learn to balance her success with low moments, like social media’s toxic side. She decided to view herself as an artist instead of just a breaker and worked to spread the importance of mental health.
During her self-discovery journey, Logistx debuted at Jonzi D's Breakin' Convention at London's Sadler's Wells Theatre to show breaking went big in theaters. Logistx also loves connecting with athletes, so she wrote the Log In column with fellow AAPI dancer Sorah Yang.
Logistx went from admiring Red Bull breaking athlete, Ronnie Abaldonado, to performing alongside him. She now receives his advice and competes in the same competitions while they remain a breakdancing friendship anchored in their shared Filipino heritage.
