FIFA 19 is set to be released on September 28, but fans of FIFA Ultimate Team can keep themselves busy with the FUT 19 Web App, which offers players the chance to make some coins and lay a strong foundation for this year’s FUT journey.
Making coins on the Web App isn’t going to be easy, though, as you won’t be able to improve your coinage by playing matches and loading up FIFA points. Instead, in order to garner some coins, all you’re going to be able to do is trade, which in itself can be a daunting task, considering how unpredictable the market will be during the early days of the Web App.
On that note, here are five ways you can make coins once the Web App’s released.

Open your loyalty packs and hit the transfer market

First and foremost, you need money to make money, but the first time you launch the FUT 19 web app you’ll have exactly zero coins in your FUT account.
To get your first set of coins is quite simple; all you need to do is open your loyalty packs, which are packs that EA gives FUT managers who have played a previous iteration of Ultimate Team in the past.
After opening the packs, you’ll need to list every item you find on the transfer market, but if you’re lucky and you manage to pull a high-rated card from your loyalty packs keep it in your club for the meantime.
After selling most of what you pulled from the loyalty packs, you should have at least 3,000 coins in your account, which you can multiply with the trading methods listed below.

Invest in position change cards

EA usually release a few Advanced and Starter Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) at the start of the Web App. These offer great coin and pack rewards, which will be useful for assembling a starter squad.
The Starter SBCs will be pretty easy to complete, while the advanced ones, like the name suggests, are going to be tricky – which is a good thing because they then require specific types of cards to complete the SBCs. As a result, some of these cards will require a position change, thereby increasing demand amid a limited supply.
Central-based position change cards are likely to rise in price due to SBCs, so you should aim to pick some up early on, as a lot of people will be listing them for really low prices.
These cards will rise in price after the first wave of stabilisation across the market, due to more people being keen on completing the SBCs after opening their loyalty packs.
Alternatively you can win position change cards on open bid and sell them almost immediately for a higher ‘buy now’ price.
The position change cards will also be useful going into the game’s full release, as FUT managers will look to apply position cards on their players in a bid to boost their individual chemistry.

Trading with full-backs

Full-backs tend to be in high demand throughout the FUT season, due to how easy it is to max out their individual chemistry points. They’ll be a key requirement for the advanced SBCs early on, thus presenting you with an opportunity to make coins by trading with them.
Firstly, you have to identify the types of full-backs to focus on.
The best full-backs to sink your coins into during the web app are usually the ones who are from a popular country and play in the top division, such as Tottenham’s Danny Rose, as well as full-backs who play in a top league, but hail from countries that are typically less popular on FUT, such as Paris Saint Germain’s Juan Bernat.
The latter set of players tend to be more useful and expensive, due to their scarcity and ability to facilitate the creation of hybrids. It’s worth noting that at the start of the game, only full-backs who'll be usable in a competitive setting, such as Benjamin Mendy and Sime Vrsalkjo, will retain a high value.

League SBC flipping

The first two League SBCs of FUT 19 will be released on September 21, thus giving you an opportunity to make some coins by flipping silver cards.
League SBCs are Squad Building Challenges that are centred on all the clubs in a particular division. The requirements are quite simple – all you need to do is submit an entire XI for each club within the given league based on set requirements.
Last year, EA released the Liga Bancomer MX along with the Turkish Super Lig, both of which had some decent rewards within them. The arrival of the SBCs gave FUT managers new ways to trade, as you were able to buy certain cards and sell them for a profit of up to 1,000 coins, which is a lot during the Web App’s early days.
While we don’t know what Leagues EA will release first this year, we’re sure you’ll be able to make coins by trading with them. The key to successfully flipping League SBC cards is identifying a card’s usual market value, and looking to pick that same card for cheaper than what it would usually sell for on the FUT market.

Invest in Marquee Matchups

Marquee Matchups are a set of recurring Squad Building Challenges based on four upcoming fixtures from real life football. It usually comprises of derbies, and can be difficult to complete sometimes, depending on the types of teams featured in it.
Investing in the first Marquee Matchups is a great way to triple your coins, as the demand for the cards needed to complete the SBC will most definitely outweigh their supply, thus resulting in an increase in card prices.
All you have to do is predict the teams that will be featured in the game’s first Marquee Matchups, sink some of your coins into them, and cash out when the first Marquee Matchups set is released on September 25.
FIFA 19 is hitting PS4, Xbox One and PC on September 28.
