There's nothing that Ginny Suss can't do. That's not because she's a bonafide superhero (she wasn't bitten by some sort of radioactive bug or anything), it's because she is persistent and always up for a challenge. Whether it is as The Roots's tour manager, the VP of Okayplayer or being a strong big sister, Suss know that she needs to break down walls to get to where she needs to be. She's always moving forward.
And within this episode of MAVENS, Suss's inner strength and real-life super powers are exposed when she discusses jumping headfirst into the unknown that was producing the Women's March on Washington this past January. When passion and progress collide, there's no stopping Suss.
Watch Suss’s episode above and read the three best pieces of advice she’s ever received (and actually took!) below.

Love work and play
"My father is a big believer in Freud. I believe Freud got a lot right, and a lot wrong. However, my dad always refers to a Freudian idea about balance in your life. He's constantly asking how my life is in regards to what he considers the three pillars of happiness: "love" and "work," as Freud noted, and "play" as well. Basically if you feel good about how your life is panning out in those three categories, you are winning. I tend to think that's right. Those are really the cornerstones to a happy, fulfilled life."
Have awesome friends.
"I feel so lucky that my closest circle of friends are all amazing humans. Some are crazy over-achievers with huge careers, shifting culture and making art and music. Some are family driven, and thanks to them I've also got a few incredible non-bio nieces and nephews. I'm beyond lucky to know them all and call them my friends. I believe that keeping honest, insightful, intelligent, loving humans close to you will enrich your life infinitely."
Listen to Michael.
"Don't be afraid to take a deep hard look at yourself. It's cheesy, I know, but as Michael Jackson's No. 1 fan I'm gonna quote one of his many masterpieces, 'Man In The Mirror': 'If you wanna make the world a better place take a look at yourself and then make a change.' (Also, listen to more Michael Jackson)."
