These days, it may seem like Travis Pastrana has the world by the short ones, but it all started with a young kid who had a tendency to do anything that got his heart rate over 180bpm.
Back in 2002, Travis was still a regular on the AMA Pro Motocross circuit. He was still contracted by factory Suzuki to race SX and MX, but much to the chagrin of the big wigs over there, he loved freestyle moto and actively participated in that discipline, too.
Then Travis learned how to BASE jump and figured, why not combine two of his favorite and most dangerous sports? Travis took an old, dilapidated Suzuki, a ramp, and his parachute to the Grand Canyon, and the rest is history. Long live the Nitro Circus.
