Don't miss this massive day at The Right

Filmer Tim Bonython doesn't miss a big swell, especially in Australia's remotest parts. In this edit, he heads to the notorious slab, The Right, and captures one of the best days of the 2017 season.

Tim Bonython has an uncanny ability to be present at nearly every historic big-wave event, especially if it goes down in Australia. This past winter proved to be a busy one for Bonython and he even had a chance to roll the camera at what has been called Australia's heaviest open ocean slab: The Right.
It wasn't until 2007 that The Right was first surfed by Australian lunatics Chad Jackson, Brad Hughes, Sean Virtue, and Dean Harrington. "There have been a lot of crazy slabs found since then," says local photographer Russell Ord, who is today one of The Right's most prolific lensmen. "Just none the same as The Right."
This time around, it was Jake Osman, Zak Haynes, Dan Corbett and Jarryd Foster taking center stage during one of the more picturesque – but no less terrifying – winter days at The Right. As usual, Bonython's cinematography is stunning from roll-in to spit-out. Enjoy it in the video above.
