Sure, there are plenty of foes you can battle against in Tekken 7, but there's nothing like having the bragging rights for defeating Akuma. After all, beating this crossover fighter is no easy feat when you play the game at maximum difficulty.

Who Is Akuma?

Known for being a main antagonist in the Street Fighter universe, Akuma is a brutal fighter who makes a guest appearance in Tekken 7. Once you beat Tekken 7's main story, you have the chance to claim victory against Akuma in a final fight during the game's special chapter.
As the dark master of the Satsui no Hado, Akuma proves himself a tricky and quick opponent. To go head-to-head with this formidable foe, you need to take on the role of the fighter Devil Kazuya. If you want to defeat him, it's best to keep your distance, be patient, and strike when the time is right.

Why Should You Beat Akuma?

Not only do you get the satisfaction of claiming defeat over Akuma, but beating him also unlocks the Master of Iron Fist trophy/achievement. This is another accomplishment to add to your shelf in the Tekken universe.

Level of Difficulty Needed to Beat Akuma

You can defeat Akuma with any level of difficulty, though it's a particularly tricky battle at maximum difficulty. If you want an easier fight, opt for the low difficulty game setting. An easy difficulty level lets you use basic combos in your battle against this raging demon.
Ultimately, the more familiar you are with Devil Kazuya and his fighting style, the easier the battle will be. Just make sure to chip away at Akuma's health little by little, and you'll slowly but surely be on your way to claiming a victory.

What Attacks to Watch Out for from Akuma

Though keeping your distance to avoid punishing damage is a great strategy, you also need to be mindful of the attacks coming your way. The better you brace yourself for an attack, the greater your chances are of taking down Akuma once and for all. Here are some of the attacks Akuma may throw at you during Tekken 7's special chapter:
Fireballs
Apart from Akuma's combos, keep your eyes peeled for some powerful fireballs that offer a little more range compared to attacks from other fighters. To avoid damage, sidestep your character away from the line of fire (pun intended). Sidestepping helps you keep a healthy distance while avoiding Akuma's deadly combos and blocks when you try to pounce.
As you sidestep each fireball, you can gain on Akuma by inching your way closer to his position. Since this attack costs him some energy, take advantage of his state and attack with a gnarly combo of your own. Try your Hell Lancer combo (forward + neutral, down + forward, left kick), but make sure to keep your distance and watch out for when he teleports.
Rage Art
If you land your combos successfully after avoiding Akuma's fireball attacks, beware of his Rage Art. The only way to avoid this line of attack is to give him a taste of his own medicine and hit him with some Rage Art of your own (down + forward, left punch, right punch). Repeat these steps from a decent distance, and you're on your way to taking him down. All it takes is some well-timed attacks and opposable thumbs.
Teleportation
Though Akuma's teleportation skills aren't necessarily considered an attack, they can be a blow to your heart when you realize your latest tactic has failed. When Akuma teleports, think fast and hit him with the good ol' Wind God Fist combo (forward-neutral + down-forward + left kick) the minute he reappears. Doing so gets Akuma off his game by messing up his own combo. It also gives you the chance to spew some blows of your own.
Ashura Senku
Another one of Akuma's moves that isn't really an attack is his Ashura Senku. This move allows him to glide or teleport to one side or another, which allows him to strike when you least expect it, so it can certainly catch you off guard. Akuma uses this move consistently to keep switching sides.

Unblockable Attacks From Akuma

Akuma's Rage Art attack is a low unblockable attack, though you can use it against him by unleashing some Rage Art of your own. You can also dodge this attack by keeping your distance and jumping.
Though our guide can help you perfect your gameplay, it all comes down to practice, determination, and quick thinking. If you don't defeat Akuma on your first try, there's always next time. Remember to get to know how your character fights (in this case, Devil Kazuya), as this can make all the difference when it's time to step up to the plate.
