Below, learn about the top race tracks in Las Vegas, where you might find motorsports events you love.
01
Heineken Silver Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, Downtown Las Vegas
In November 2023, the Las Vegas strip is set to transform into part of the Las Vegas Grand Prix Heineken Silver Formula One track. The first Grand Prix event in the city since 1982 will take F1 drivers on 50 laps around the dazzling lights of Las Vegas.
This circuit features 14 turns past Vegas landmarks, including Caesar’s Palace and the Bellagio. Don’t be surprised, though, if drivers don’t notice the fountain show. Competitors are expected to approach record-setting speeds of over 200 mph, close to what you see at Monza, home of the Italian Grand Prix. If you’re fortunate enough to be part of the excitement, don’t miss the Red Bull Energy Station on-track experience.
02
Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Downtown Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway has welcomed racing fans to revel in record-setting speeds since 1996. The famous Motor Speedway is located at 7000 Las Vegas Blvd North, approximately 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. The massive 1,200-acre facility, beloved by fans and drivers alike, features a 1.5-mile oval track with 20-degree banking.
This top race track in Las Vegas is a major NASCAR race hub as well. Stars such as Kurt and Kyle Busch have broken records at events here, including the Xfinity and Cup Series. And if you’ve ever wanted to take the wheel in a NASCAR vehicle, this track’s NASCAR racing experience lets you do just that. There’s also some pretty great non-racing entertainment at this track, including the Red Bull Air Race World Championships.
03
The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Downtown Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway also happens to be home to one of the greatest drag strips in the United States. As one of only two four-lane dragstrips in the country, The Strip has been hosting world-class drag races since 2000. The site hosts roughly 50 events annually, with its two National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) championships usually generating the most buzz. In fact, some of the top drivers in the world have hit seemingly impossible speeds upward of 330 mph on the Strip.
04
Speed Vegas, Sloan
If you’ve ever wanted a race car driving experience of your own, visit Exotic Racing at Speed Vegas, located at 14200 South Las Vegas Boulevard. Choose from over 40 race car models, from Porsches to Ferraris to tackle this 1.2-mile race track, Las Vegas’ fastest.
Speed Vegas is also home to a great dirt track where you can take a few off-road laps in a Baja Race Truck. If you’d rather enjoy the thrill from the passenger seat, Speed Vegas also offers “ride-alongs” in off-road vehicles and Super Cars. On the other hand, if lower speeds are more your style, there’s also an incredible karting track at Speed Vegas.
05
Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club, Pahrump
If you venture about an hour west of downtown Las Vegas, you’ll find a top-notch performance driving school and exclusive motorsports country club. The Spring Mountain track is over six miles long, with over 50 configuration options against the Nevada mountain backdrop. The Wheel-to-Wheel racing series is for Club Spring Mountain members only, but there’s still lots of fun to be had for non-member racing enthusiasts.
For example, this top Las Vegas-area race track is home to the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School. This school — the official high-performance school for Corvette — includes instruction on autocross, open-lapping, and tons of other important track maneuvers. You can also learn to operate a Radical SR3 XX with the help of Spring Mountain’s Radical Racing Academy. Plus, anyone who’s recently become the proud owner of a Cadillac V-Series Blackwing gets free enrollment in this race track’s V-Performance Academy.
