Below are the top 10 skate shops in Florida so you can get all your gear — and get ready for your next skating adventure.
01

Skatepark of Tampa

Opened in 1993, Skatepark of Tampa is both a skate shop and a skate park. Commonly known as SPoT, this shop and park offers all the equipment and gear you’ll need. Hats, backpacks, boards, wheels, bearings, shoes, and trucks from a variety of brands are all in the inventory here.
As its name suggests, this shop is also a skate park — namely, an indoor one with rails, ramps, and ledges. SPoT also offers group lessons where you can pick up some basic skateboarding tips, learn foundational techniques, and meet fellow skaters. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you can enter one of the park's contests to show off your hard work.

Kirk Cottrell, a fellow surfer and skater, opened the shop in 1978 to share his passion for these sports with the community. In the more than 40 years since then, his children have taken over the shop and continued growing it into a community favorite. During school breaks, the shop hosts skate camps at skateparks around South Florida. No matter your experience level, you’ll find what you’re looking for at Island Water Sports.
