Dominate Corrode with our VALORANT map guide
Need to tighten up your Corrode play? Here are our top tips for success, including callouts, agent picks and more.
Although it's one of the most visually arresting locations in the VALORANT universe, Corrode is actually a rather traditional map. It's two-site, three-lane layout encourages precise gunplay and teamwork, putting your fundamentals to the test. Canny utility use is also crucial, so you'll want to pick the right agents to get the job done. In this guide, we’ll run through callouts, agent picks and our top tips for ruling Corrode.
01
Corrode map overview
Corrode transports players to the historic French castle town Mont-Saint-Michel, which has been repurposed into a radianite salt mining facility. As you battle your way through its cobbled streets, you'll encounter industrial machinery that ou can use to augment your tactics.
Corrode's traditional layout emphasises mid control. The mid lane offers access to both sites, so controlling it will allow you to perform quick rotations and apply split pressure, essentially letting you dictate the flow of the game. There's plenty of verticality in this map, too, so think about how you can exploit high ground to get superior angles. This multi-layered layout offers plenty of options to defenders, meaning that attackers can't just brute force their way to victory.

Corrode map best agents
Controller: Omen
Corrode doesn't have a ton of movement options, so Omen's teleport ability will give you a major advantage here. His long-range smokes will also help you control mid, while his flash will allow you to stun enemies in key choke points like A Yard and B Elbow. Viper’s wall is also extremely useful on Corrode – you might consider using them both.
Sentinel: Killjoy
Killjoy’s kit set is fantastic for controlling choke points. Place turrets in high spots and alarmbots in backline positions to keep tabs on attackers, or defenders looking to diffuse. Her Nanoswarms can slow down defenders in the post-plant stage and her ult, Lockdown, can sweep through layered environments, making retakes a breeze.
Duellist: Phoenix
Phoenix shines on Corrode, not least due to his flashes that can reach around those pesky corners. He's also useful in the post-plant phase, with his Molly, Hot Hands, allowing him to target backline players on the retake. His ult allows you to tag enemies in hard-to-reach areas close to bomb sites.
Initiator: Fade
Fade is our top initiator pick, thanks largely to the usefulness of Haunt. This device can be thrown into high places to tag enemies that are out of reach. This, coupled with the wallbang potential built into this map makes her quite the threat indeed. Her ult, Nightfall, is also handy for clearing sites. If deployed near A it covers the entire site, which is perfect for forcing defenders out of position

Corrode map tips and tricks
Tip 1: Fight for mid
It's been said before, but it bears repeating: mid control is crucial on Corrode. Corrode's midsection has long sightlines, so you'll want to use smokes to keep the path clear for attackers to advance. For defenders, keeping pressure on this section of the map will help you track attackers' movements and stop them from rotating between bomb sites.
Tip 2: Watch your step
Corrode contains a unique element – flooded walkways. Moving through these locations makes noise and can reveal your position. These walkways, located throughout the map, are best avoided, but if you have to use them make sure you move slowly to minimise the risk of alerting enemies to your location.
Prioritise B
B site has a wealth of narrow choke points and elevated angles, making it stacked in favor of defenders. Taking this site early will set you up for success for the rest of the match, as once cleared, you can take shots from these same positions in the post-plant phase. To take this point, you’ll need to push with aggression, using all the utility at your disposal – smokes, mollies and flashes.
