There's a bit of mystery in Endurocross for some people. What is this new dirtbike discipline? Is it Supercross? Is it Enduro? Well, we're here to help our readers out with this simple 10-step guide that unlocks the secrets of Endurocross:
1. Endurocross is like Supercross – it's raced in a stadium, with heats and main events.
And it's filled with loud fans drinking overpriced stadium beer, too!

2. There are logs, rocks and water hazards everywhere.
Don't forget about the massive, gargantuan tractor tires. They are all over the place, too.

3. Don’t worry, there are regular jumps, too.
Endurocross doesn't lose sight of its Supercross influence -- riders still need to be able to hit big jumps on top of the seemingly endless other obstacles. Tarah Gieger comes from the right background.

4. The best riders turn all of the obstacles into jumps, regardless of what the track builders intended.
Logs and tires make for the most fun jumps, even though they seem almost impossible to ride over. Taddy Blazusiak clearly has no issue clearing anything the track throws at him.
5. It’s similar to Hard Enduro, shrunk down to the size of an Arenacross track.
Because sometimes Hard Enduro just isn't hard enough.

6. The race starts at a gate, just like a Supercross race.
So is the holeshot line before the massive rock garden or after it?

7. That means that racers get to deal with incredibly difficult track features while racing 10-15 other racers in close proximity.
It's one thing to ride Endurocross. It's a completely different thing to race in it.

8. So when one rider falls, he’s probably going to collect a few others in the crash as well.
Crash party or party crasher? There's not a lot you can do as far as evasive maneuvers when your bike's straddling a log.

9. It might seem low-speed at first, but trust us, the good riders are hauling ass.
It's like they're on the back of a comet or a lightning bolt or something.
10. It all comes together to make for some awesome racing.
The Endurocross season kicks off on May 2nd in Las Vegas, so now you have another reason to get out to Sin City!
