Gaming
The PC master race will attest that customising your rig is possibly the best part of hardcore gaming on a computer set up. Razer’s Chroma range of peripherals and notebooks feeds this gaming obsession of individualisation by allowing you to fully customise your keyboard, mouse, notebook or headset with a host of personalisation options. And by personalisation I mean lights, lots of colourful twinkly lights.
Sparkling keys aren’t the only thing you can expect when you get your hands on a Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 mechanical keyboard. The build quality and switches used are premium and, other than a considerable amount of finger smudges on the matt black finish, the keyboard is a great addition to your gaming arsenal. The Blackwidow Chroma also has an insane choice of colours for the LED backlighting of the keys - which are fully customisable.
You can customise each and every key’s function while also assigning a hue of colours and effects to individualise your keyboard.
In this step by step guide we’ll walk you through how to customise the lighting effects of your Razer Blackwidow Chroma Keyboard but you can follow these same steps to customise any Razer Chroma gadget you may have recently purchased.
To show you the ease at which you can customise your keyboard take a look at this video, it shows you how straight forward the config edits are as well as how quickly they can be done:

Step 1
Download the Razer Synapse Software. You can find the free Razer Synapse download here. Once installed you’ll need to create a unique Razer id (the process is quick and painless) and then you’re good to go.
Step 2
Open the software and you’ll immediately see the multitude of customisation options available. You’re also able to save various profiles to suit your different needs: from first person shooter set ups to work day profiles. You can add a host. For this particular how to though you’ll need to click lighting in the top right.
Step 3
Once you’ve decided on a specific effect you can customise even further by changing the back lighting colours, adjusting brightness and tweaking the light shift timing.
Step 4
You can customise even further by clicking the “Chroma Configurator” link next to your desired lighting effect. This will open even more individual options that you can tweak and adjust to suit your specific play style and personality.
Step 5
In the Chroma Configurator you can now customise specific key sets with their own individual effects and colour hues. To make the customisation easier, the Razer Synapse software also breaks down game styles for the user to select from thus opening an entire new section of key selects and allowing further customisation.
Once you’ve determined your light show you click apply and the config will save to your profile. You’re ready to go.
