This event is, first and foremost, a race. Therefore, the fastest one across the finish line is going to be looked upon favorably. Take note though, that one actually has to cross the finish line in the vehicle.

Each team to have a maximum of 5 people. 1 driver and 1 co-driver allowed.

All ground crew members must be at least 16 years of age and the driver must be 18 years of age or older.

Human-powered and homemade machines. No engines, no petrol, batteries, electrical cords, catapults, etc. are allowed.

At most 2m wide, 2.5m tall and 6m long.

No engines, batteries, or stored power. Gravity is the only power source.

Mandatory and functional steering and braking systems are required.

Selected teams are chosen based on creative submissions.

Must be hand-made, non-motorized, and under a certain weight.

Based on speed, creativity, and showmanship (the "skit").

Drivers must wear helmets.

Fully functioning brakes and steering are required.

All drivers (and, if applicable, co-drivers) must wear full-length pants, a long-sleeved top, closed-toed shoes, and gloves as part of their costumes.

What we’re looking for is the outrageous, the preposterous and the ostentatious! A soapbox should be an extension of its team. It’s wild. It’s crazy. It can be anything they want. It just can’t be ordinary.

The length of the soapbox must be less than 6m, the width less than 2m and height less than 2,5m. The maximum boxcart weight is 80kg excluding the driver.

Soapboxes must be powered by the force of gravity only. That, and your imagination. So no external energy sources are allowed. But that doesn’t mean you won’t go fast.
