It is a challenging, high-intensity trail running event held in the iconic white sands of the Atlantis Dunes, Cape Town. The race format is designed to test endurance, speed, and recovery across a unique, multi-stage elimination structure fitness.
The primary course is a gruelling 5-6 km loop across deep sand and extreme dune elevation. The total distance you run depends on how far you advance in the three-stage elimination format.
We have a dedicated, shaded medical tent at the Start/Finish line. More importantly, mobile medical teams on 4x4 motorbikes and quads will patrol the entire course for rapid response.
Yes. The course is clearly marked. Marshals will also be positioned at all major turns and hazard points.
Race kit collection will take place at Registration on Event Day.
There is no parking permitted at the event village inside the Nature Reserve. All participants must park at the designated off-site parking lot – location will be shared closer to event day. We will run continuous, Shuttle Services from the parking lot directly to the race village.
Footwear: Lightweight trail running shoes are recommended, but participants can opt to run barefoot if they prefer.
Clothing: Light-coloured, moisture-wicking synthetic fabric. Sunglasses and a buff are essential for sun and dust protection.
Yes, spectators are welcome!
They are encouraged to gather in the Race Village near the Start/Finish line. This area will provide shade, entertainment & food vendors.
The entry age limit is 16 years or older. Participants aged 16 and 17 are required to have written consent from a legal guardian prior to partaking.
Yes, there is a nominal fee of R100.00 per person to enter.
