The competition, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, was not just another race—it was an energetic, record-breaking showcase of athleticism and community spirit, bringing together participants and spectators from across the globe.
With over 1,483 athletes pushing their limits across a series of grueling challenges—combining running, rowing, and strength endurance—HYROX Cape Town delivered an unforgettable experience. What set this event apart wasn’t just the physical feats on display, but its ability to seamlessly blend elite competition with inclusivity. Participants ranged from world-class athletes to first-time fitness enthusiasts, all equally driven to test their endurance on the international stage. And they weren’t alone—more than 2,000 spectators filled the venue, feeding the high-energy atmosphere and cheering every competitor on.
But it wasn’t just about participation—it was about excellence. Standout performances came from Jake Dearden, who took first place in the Men’s individual Pro category with an impressive time of 56 minutes and 53 seconds, earning himself a spot at the Elite 15 HYROX event in Amsterdam. Cape Town's own Vicky MacIntosh emerged as the Women’s individual Pro champion, clocking in at 1 hour, 5 minutes, and 33 seconds, proving that local talent can stand toe-to-toe with seasoned international competitors.
Beyond the competition, HYROX Cape Town had a significant impact on the local economy, boosting sports tourism as international athletes and their supporters explored the city's iconic attractions. The event solidified Cape Town’s reputation as a world-class destination for global sporting events, with brands like Puma, Red Bull, Myprotein, and others using the event as a platform for interactive showcases.

With Johannesburg, Durban, and other cities on our radar, this is only the beginning,” he said.
